Congratulations to Muzammil Adam and Olivia Moss from our Salford young people’s team – who have been shortlisted at the Salford City College Group Annual Apprenticeship Awards 2026.
Muzammil and Olivia have both been shortlisted in the Apprentice of the Year category and will attend the ceremony at FutureSkills, at the prestigious MediaCityUK.
Muzammil and Olivia have built their skills in a range of administrative tasks that support the day-to-day running of our careers information and guidance service in Salford.
This includes dealing with phone enquiries from young people, families and partner agencies. The pair also help manage social media content, and take minutes at team meetings – all contributing to effective communication and coordination across the service.
They have also had the chance to develop their own specialisms.
Muzammil’s role includes providing accurate data reports and inputting information into systems, while also collating job bulletins for caseload clients and gathering SEN provision information for young people with Education, Health and Care Plans.
Olivia supports the planning, delivery and record-keeping of summer programmes and short NEET programmes, working closely with colleagues to ensure activities run smoothly and are accurately documented. She carries out home visits alongside careers advisers, promotes Career Connect at events and open days.
I feel honoured to have been nominated for this award. It was a surprise that I was nominated but I am very grateful for this nomination. My journey with Career Connect has been really good so far. I have amazing colleagues who help me if I am ever stuck on something. I also have really supportive managers who care about my career projection and how my time with Career Connect has been.
I feel extremely grateful for this nomination. This is a big deal to me as I am a huge self-doubter, but it has assured me that I am doing a good job. When I started this apprenticeship, I was so scared, but the team welcomed me straight away! Although it can be a challenge, especially because my job role is quite social and you don’t know who you’re going to meet, it is such a rewarding job, and I am so happy to be here.
Olivia and Muzammil have been an invaluable addition to the Salford team. They work great together on tracking and social media whilst also taking on their own specialist responsibilities – Muzammil in data and Olivia in programmes and events.
They fitted in right from the go and I know I speak for the team in saying how we rely on them for so many day-to-day administrative tasks. It’s been wonderful seeing them grow in confidence and experience. They fully deserve to be shortlisted and I’ll keeping my fingers crossed that they win on the night!
Olivia and Muzammil will attend the awards ceremony this week at FutureSkills at MediaCityUK, where the evening will celebrate the outstanding achievements of apprentices from a range of sectors, and the overall apprentice of the year will also be announced.
