Who is this qualification for?
This qualification is for anyone above the age of 16 who wants to increase their knowledge and awareness of mental health. There is no prior knowledge or skill required before taking this qualification.
What will I learn?
Candidates will:
- Have an increased awareness of mental health and a range of mental health problems.
- Increase their understanding of a range of mental health problems, which could be used to support their role in the workplace, or where you may work or interact with individuals with mental health problems.
How will I learn?
Candidates will learn by achieving the 13 mandatory units which relate to specific mental health conditions as well as overall mental health.
These units are: mental health, stress, anxiety, phobias, depression, post-natal depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, dementia, eating disorders, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
How will I be assessed?
This is a knowledge only qualification. Work or industry placement and experience is not required.
The qualification is assessed internally and then externally quality assured. An internal assessment will take place against a portfolio/workbook via written assessment.
We will work with candidates to find suitable ways to help them learn and record their learning to enable maximum understanding and support.
