Paris is a Care Leaver who was supported into employment by a Career Coach, Dee.
Paris is now working as part of Manchester City Council Disability Supported Accommodation Service as a Level 2 Support Worker.
Paris is really enjoying her work with vulnerable adults and finds that no one day is the same so is always experiencing and learning new things.
Paris explained “I was really nervous about going into employment and could not have done this without the support and motivation from Dee at Career Connect. She was always available to support me and to help solve any issues.”
During the recent Covid19 pandemic Paris continued to enjoy her role as a key worker. There have been challenging days for Paris who is new to the care industry, but she has certainly risen to the challenge, put in the hours needed with her new team and feels she has found the right career now.
Some of the people in Paris’ care displayed Covid19 symptoms but this hasn’t deterred her, she has remained professional, empathetic and resilient at a time that would be testing for those with far more years of experience.
Paris added “knowing that I have the continuous support of Dee from Career Connect makes such a difference and has helped me with being able to cope during these times. It is difficult to watch people I am caring for suffer with the virus, but I am proud to know I am making a difference”.
Dee stated, “it was wonderful to be able to make a difference and watch Paris grow in confidence”.
