Career Connect

We are delighted to publish our Impact report for 2020/21, highlighting the critical support our charity provided during an extremely challenging period for those with whom we work.

The report shows not only our impact in numbers but also the stories of individuals whose lives have been changed through the expert work of our teams.

The pandemic which has had a massive impact on the young people and adults we support will continue to shape lives through lost education, mental health issues and the rising cost of living meaning our services will be needed now more than ever.

Some key highlights include:

  • During this period, we worked with 64,716 people across the North West
  • We supported 1,468 offenders, 12% of whom were helped into employment outcomes
  • We provided a online and digital careers education, information, advice & guidance services across 160 schools (to 27,686 students)
  • Our work with local authorities saw us undertake substantial interventions with 26,881 young people
  • Our National Careers Service team worked with 8,388, 37% of whom moved into an employment or accredited learning option
  • We trained 293 staff across a variety of organisations including local authorities and schools

The report shows the importance of innovation and collaboration in continuing to develop services from working with gamers to enhance their employment skills to distributing laptops to vulnerable young people, helping to bridge the digital divide.

All the activities highlighted wouldn’t be possible without the amazing work of our teams who have shown commitment, resilience, and flexibility in order to support our participants.
