If you’re aged 16-18 in Salford, not in education, employment or training and looking to improve your career skills, there’s a whole range of different activities taking place through the summer to help you improve your experience.


From boxing to beauty therapy or cycle repair to sports, there’s a range of activities in this summer’s Salford career skills programme to get your career prospects moving.

  • Salford City College – Be College Ready Summer Programme – Starts Monday 18 July
    Attachment: SalfordCC Be College Ready

    Check out a range of activities, including yoga/mindfulness, grow your own herbs, henna/body art, team building, pizza making, sports day and healthy lifestyles.   • CSIN Hair and Beauty Summer Programme – Starts Tuesday 19 July 2022
    Attachment: Hair & Beauty Summer Programme

    If interested in developing skills in hair and beauty, there are 10 places available on this programme.   • “She’s Punching” Boxing, Fitness and Wellbeing Programme – Starts Monday 18 July 2022

    This Boxing, Fitness & Wellbeing Exercise programme at Eccles Boxing Gym starts on Monday 18 July runs 10am-2pm every Monday and Tuesday for six weeks.   • “He’s Punching” Boxing, Fitness and Wellbeing Programme – Starts Wednesday 20 July 2022

  • Multi-Sport Summer Programme – Starts Tuesday 26 July 2022

    EdIntervention is running a multi-sport summer programme, starting from Tuesday 26 July.  The programme runs 10am-2pm for 5 weeks.   • The Prince’s Trust Riding to Success Programme – Starts Thursday 21 July 2022

    The Prince’s Trust Riding To Success programme teaches you bike building, cycle training and lets you develop team working and self confidence. There’s a chance to keep the bike you work on and you could earn up to £100 in gift vouchers based on your attendance.   • The Growth Company Multi-Skills Summer Programme – Starts Monday 1 August 2022
    Attachment: GC Multi Skills Summer Programme

    If you’re 16-18 and looking for a way to keep busy and earn money, the Growth Company’s summer programme (starting 1 August 2022) can help you improve your employability skills with activities to build your confidence, team building and digital skills. There are also a range of practical and taster sessions, including wellbeing, arts and crafts, CV writing and outdoor activities and day trips.To find out more, contact your local training centre, using the numbers listed on the attachment.
