Supporting Young People

Career Connect has been appointed by Local Authorities across the Liverpool City Region, Manchester and Salford to support young people, to ensure they are engaging with the range of work and learning opportunities.

A dedicated team is based within local communities, working alongside partners to support young people with their career planning, job search or identifying the next steps to progress their choices or overcome any barriers they might encounter. This work also includes tracking young people to identify who may have dropped out of education or training, to help engage them back into education, employment and training.

Navigating the journey from school into meaningful employment can be a difficult road for some young people, who need a little bit of extra encouragement or motivation to help them get back on track with their career.  We use a variety of interventions to help them; understand career aims, strengths and areas for development, raise aspirations and show how participation can help realise their goals. This includes impartial careers advice and guidance, labour market intelligence, CV production, completing application forms and interview preparation.

Career Connect put their staff in the heart of the community, where young people can access the right support to find a way forward, and a pathway that’s right for them.
