Frequently Asked Questions
It’s your chance to help shape how Career Connect supports young people like you.
Career Connect is a charity that helps people with:
- Careers advice and coaching
- Job searching, training, and apprenticeships
- Support if you’re not in school, college, or work
- Projects to make careers services more youth-friendly
As a Youth Ambassador, you’ll be part of a team making sure youth voice is heard in everything we do.
Anyone aged 16 to 24 who wants to make a difference and share ideas.
There are up to 14 ambassador spaces each year.
We meet once a month for 2 hours, either at:
- Our Head Office in Liverpool city centre
- A community venue in Deansgate, Manchester
You can find maps below.
We love meeting face to face, but we know it’s not always possible, so you can join online too.
Meetings are chilled, friendly, and full of creative stuff.
You might:
- Play games to chat about job hunting and careers
- Help design content and resources for young people
- Give feedback on careers advice sessions
- Share ideas for how our services can be better
- Talk about what’s important in our charity strategy
- Speak with staff from different Career Connect teams
You don’t need experience just honest opinions and real-life ideas.
At the start of each meeting, Alicia will:
- Share updates on what’s changed since your last ideas
- Give you easy-to-read summary notes with clear actions
Everything you say helps shape how we work with young people.
You’ll get chances to take part in extra projects, like:
- Writing blogs or creating social media content
- Speaking at events
- Helping shape new services or resources
- Supporting videos or workshops
You can say yes to what interests you no pressure!
Yes! You’ll always have support from the team.
We’ll explain everything clearly, and you can ask for help anytime.
The role is voluntary, but:
- We’ll cover your travel costs
- If you take part in extra projects (beyond meetings), we may give you a thank-you voucher.
The role lasts for 12 months — with one meeting per month.
You can choose to stay involved in other ways after your year, if you’d like.
That’s totally okay.
If things change and you want to step back, just let us know.
Just fill in a short online form.
If another way suits you better (like a voice note or video), just let us know – we’re happy to work with what’s easiest for you!
We’ll invite you to a casual chat — not a formal interview.
It’s just to:
- Get to know you
- Tell you more about the role
- Answer any questions you’ve got
We’ll support you however we can.
That might include:
- Travel help
- Accessible formats
- A quiet space or someone to check in with
Just let us know what works for you.
