Motivational Interviewing

Learn how to empower people to move forward and make decisions.

Motivational interviewing is a directive, client-centred counselling style. It can help prompt behavioural change by helping people explore and resolve uncertainty, doubt and indecision. Learn how to use it in your setting.

Our session aims to increase your awareness and understanding of the definitions of motivational interviewing. You will explore where some of the theoretical/academic ideas come from and why they are important. You will also understand when and how to use motivational interviewing and how positive interjection can be a simple, instinctive and highly effective technique.
