Two new February dates for the Career Connect delivery of the Careers Leader qualification, with a funded bursary from the Careers Enterprise Company (CEC), have been announced!
The Careers Leader certification is designed for those leading and developing careers advice in schools, colleges, SEND, or alternative educational provision centres.
New start dates:
3rd-4th February and 13th-14th February.
Bursary:
The CEC offers a bursary of £1000 to public schools and colleges who have a Careers Leader who has completed the training. The bursary is available if you sign up via the CEC website and choose Career Connect as your training and delivery provider.
What is the Careers Leader certification?
The certificate covers three optional units from the Level 6 Diploma in Careers Guidance and Development:
- Unit 17 – Lead and manage career development work within an organisation.
- Unit 18 – Continuously improve career development work within an organisation.
- Unit 19 – Plan and design career-related learning programmes.
If you wish to find out more information on units 17, 18, and 19, you can visit the OCR website.
At Career Connect, we accommodate a range of learning styles through a blended approach, including written, verbal, and visual information delivery.
Our assessment methods include assignments, professional discussions, and work projects.
How is the qualification delivered?
We deliver the Careers Leader programme either via Microsoft Teams meetings, or face-to-face at Walker House, Liverpool.
Within the course there are three modules, approximately one taken per term, for a total of 6 delivery days.
Each learner is provided with a designated assessor who will meet with you on regular basis via Microsoft Teams, email, or telephone, depending on your contact preference. Our team is fully committed to providing a flexible qualification that works for you!
What are the benefits?
Completing the Careers Leader certification gives you the opportunity to accelerate your school or college towards achieving the Gatsby Benchmarks. With the power to improve and develop careers programmes, it is the perfect training course to help you inspire young people to find their next step.
Once you’ve completed the Careers Leader certification, you can use it as a progression route to obtain the full Level 6 Diploma in Careers Guidance and Development.
Having already completed three optional units for the Careers Leader programme, you will be able to complete the seven mandatory units which would give you the full qualification – qualifying you to deliver one-to-one personal guidance.
“The careers programme that I helped to develop during and off the back of completing the qualification has helped the MAT and schools within it receive two national recognitions and a ‘Good’ standing report from Ofsted”. – Les Wellens, Careers Leader at the Holy Family College Multi-Academy Trust.
Can’t make any of the February dates? We start a new Careers Leader once a month – it is the same course with different start dates, so you won’t miss out any important information!
